Operator methods in mathematical physics : conference on Operator Theory, Analysis and Mathematical Physics (OTAMP) 2010,
Bedlewo, Poland by Analysis and Mathematical Physics Conference on Operator Theory(
)
7 editions published in 2013 in English and held by 405 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
The conference Operator Theory, Analysis and Mathematical Physics OTAMP is a regular biennial event devoted to mathematical problems on the border between analysis and mathematical physics. The current volume presents articles written by participants, mostly invited speakers, and is devoted to problems at the forefront of modern mathematical physics such as spectral properties of CMV matrices and inverse problems for the nonclassical Schrödinger equation. Other contributions deal with equations from mathematical physics and study their properties using methods of spectral analysis. The volume explores several new directions of research and may serve as a source of new ideas and problems for all scientists interested in modern mathematical physics

ANALYSIS MEETS GEOMETRY : the mikael passare memorial volume(
)
12 editions published in 2017 in English and German and held by 238 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
This book is dedicated to the memory of Mikael Passare, an outstanding Swedish mathematician who devoted his life to developing the theory of analytic functions in several complex variables and exploring geometric ideas firsthand. It includes several papers describing Mikael's life as well as his contributions to mathematics, written by friends of Mikael's who share his attitude and passion for science. A major section of the book presents original research articles that further develop Mikael's ideas and which were written by his former students and coauthors. All these mathematicians work at the interface of analysis and geometry, and Mikael's impact on their research cannot be underestimated. Most of the contributors were invited speakers at the conference organized at Stockholm University in his honor. This book is an attempt to express our gratitude towards this great mathematician, who left us full of energy and new creative mathematical ideas

Sergio Albeverio(
)
3 editions published in 2002 in English and held by 74 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
This volume contains the proceedings of the Kovalevsky symposium held in Stockholm 2000. The first part is devoted to the life of S. Kovalevsky, the first female professor of mathematics, who influenced the development of European science during the last century. Historical notes by G. MittagLeffler and copies of official documents related to her life as well as several articles on her life and mathematics are presented. The main articles by J.E. Björk describe her life and professorship at Stockholm University. Part two of the volume contains 23 contributions in pure and applied mathematics, and in mathematical physics resulting from the lectures delivered within the program of the symposium

Methods of spectral analysis in mathematical physics : Conference on Operator Theory, Analysis and Mathematical Physics (OTAMP)
2006, Lund, Sweden by
I Gohberg(
)
8 editions published in 2009 in English and held by 39 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
This volume contains mainly the lectures delivered by the participants of the International Conference: Operator Theory, Analysis and Mathematical Physics OTAMP2006, held in Lund. As in the previous conferences of the OTAMP series, the main lectures presented an overview of current research which uses operator methods in analysis and mathematical physics. The topics of the Proceedings belong to various di?erent?elds of mathem ical physics. Among others (but there is much more in this volume) the following subjects are presented: inverse spectral and scattering problems on graphs, review articles on quadratic Hamiltonians and BornOppenheimer approximations, cursive construction of the AblowitzLadik Hierarchy, spectral properties of?nite di?erence and one (or two) dimensional Schro ·dinger operators, eigenvalues and their estimates for Jacobi matrices and AharonovBohm operator. Most papers of the volume contain original material and were refereed by acknowledged experts. The Editors thank all the referees whose job helped to improve the clarity of the collected material. The Organizing Committee of the conference also thanks all session organizers for the interesting choice of the s enti?c programme and to all participants who delivered?ne lectures. We greatly appreciate?nancial support of the ESF programme SPECT, without whose nancial support the OTAMP2006 would never been so well organized. Special thanks go to other agenciessupportedthe conference?nancially:Vetenskapsr? adet, WennerGren Foundation, as well as to Lund University and to the Institute of Mathematics of the Polish Academy of Sciences

Spectral theory and analysis : conference on Operator Theory, Analysis and Mathematical Physics (OTAMP) 2008, Bedlewo, Poland by
Jan Janas(
)
6 editions published in 2011 in English and held by 35 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
This volume contains the proceedings of the OTAMP 2008 (Operator Theory, Analysis and Mathematical Physics) conference held at the Mathematical Research and Conference Center in Bedlewo near Poznan. It is composed of original research articles describing important results presented at the conference, some with extended review sections, as well as presentations by young researchers. Special sessions were devoted to random and quasiperiodic differential operators, orthogonal polynomials, Jacobi and CMV matrices, and quantum graphs. The contributions also reflect new trends in spectral theory, where much emphasis is given to operators with magnetic fields and nonselfadjoint problems. The book is geared towards scientists from advanced undergraduate students to researchers interested in the recent development on the borderline between operator theory and mathematical physics, especially spectral theory for Schrödinger operators and Jacobi matrices
