Überaus langweilige frühe Komödie von Pedro Almodovar, die ihre konfuse Ge- schichte als eine Aneinanderreihung von platten Witzen und Geschmack- losigkeiten präsentiert, dabei aber weder die Provokanz noch die inszenatorischen Qualitäten seiner späteren Filme erreicht. In dieser Situation sucht die attraktive Nachtclubsängerin Zuflucht im Kloster der "demütigen Erlöserinnen". Die Nonnen dort widmen sich gefallenen Mädchen und sind dabei selbst auf Abwege geraten: Schwester Oberin hängt an der Nadel und hat an den ihr anvertrauten Mädchen ein eindeutiges Interesse; Schwester Chaos hält sich einen ausgewachsenen Tiger mit dem Namen "Eros" als Hätscheltier; Schwester Straßenratte schreibt unter Pseudonym lüsterne Romane; Schwester Kobra liebt modischen Flitter und einen Kaplan; Schwester Kot schmeißt Trips und hat Visionen in gelb, pink und blau, in denen sie Gott wiederzuerkennen glaubt.

Und es kommt mir wirklich nicht nur spanisch vor, was Pepa (mitreißend in Temperament, Wut, List und Tücke und schließlich Selbstbewußsein) wegen ihres eigentlich ziemlich unmöglichen Weiberhelden Carlos veranstaltet. Manchmal ist das Leben nun mal schlimmer als eine Boulevardkomödie. Und Almodovar kommt aus der Tradition seines Landes und eines Luis Bunuel: Surrealismus und rabenschwarzen Humor hat er im Blut wie wir Deutschen die Tiefsinnigkeit. Fabelhaft, wie er Tabus ad absurdum führt, Terroristen, Polizei, Bourgeosie mit Slapstick-Action ohrfeigt. Ein anarchisches Vergnügen. (Frauke Hanck, tz)
