Concertos for trumpets and horns by Johann Melchior Molter( )

5 editions published between 2017 and 2018 in 4 languages and held by 250 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Johann Melchior Molter is a composer well-known among enthusiasts of music for winds, but generally his output is performed on modern instruments. Extensive research in the field of historically informed performance practice theoretically allows for the faithful reconstruction of the original sound of this music, but there exist only very few trumpetists today who are able to play on the required natural, valveless instruments. Jean-Francois Madeuf is one of these, extracting a warm, noble sound which make these concertos a very pleasurable listening experience

The Messiah by George Frideric Handel( )

3 editions published in 2016 in English and held by 200 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Handel's 'Messiah' is already very well-represented on the CD market. Yet this is a very special version, carefully crafted, under the fine direction of Daniela Dolci, with singers Miriam Feuersinger, Flavio Ferri-Benedetti, Dino Lüthy and Raitis Grigalis joining the ensemble Musica Fiorita. For obtaining the nuanced sound aesthetics which define this recording, the chosen cast is deliberately small: alongside the soloists, two voices per part were used for the choir, whereas the instrumental ensemble is composed of two violins and one oboe per part as well as a viola, cello, bassoon, violone, two theorbos, two harpsichords and two positive organs for the basso continuo group. The optimal balance is achieved with the use of natural trumpets without finger holes. All in all, a welcome breath of fresh air for one of the best-known compositions of all times
Arie, lamenti e cantate by Barbara Strozzi( Recording )

8 editions published in 2000 in Italian and Undetermined and held by 106 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

(pr)
