Shimazaki and his friend Lieutenant Miyata Nobutaka are captured. Miyata is executed as a war criminal, but Shimazaki is rescued by the Indonesians. Although the War is over and Japan has been defeated, Shimazaki decides to stay on and continue the fight for Indonesian independence
