Introduction à la neuropsychologie clinique by Maryse Siksou( Book )

4 editions published between 2005 and 2012 in French and held by 132 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

From neuropsychology to mental structure by Tim Shallice( Book )

1 edition published in 1995 in French and held by 62 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

As a cognitive neuropsychologist, Tim Shallice considers the general question of what can be learned about the operation of the normal cognitive system from the study of the cognitive difficulties arising from neurological damage and disease. He distinguishes two types of theories of normal function - primarily modular and primary non-modular - and argues that the problems of making valid inferences about normal function from studies of brain-damaged subjects are more severe for the latter. He first analyzes five well-researched areas in which some modularity can be assumed: short-term memory, reading, writing, visual perception, and the relation between input and output language processing. His aim is to introduce the methods about normal function mirror ones derived directly from studies of normal subjects and indeed at times preceded them. He then more theoretically examines these inferences, from group studies and individual case studies to modular and non-modular systems. Finally, he considers five areas where theories of normal function are relatively undeveloped and neuropsychology provides counterintuitive phenomena and guides to theory-building: the organization of semantic systems, visual attention, concentration and will, episodic memory, and consciousness

Caractéristiques du vieillissement cognitif chez les personnes illettrées en Corée by Jung-Hae Youn Sung( Book )

2 editions published between 2009 and 2011 in French and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

1 edition published in 2009 in French and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

This thesis is a contribution to the understanding of adaptive capacity of depressed and non-depressed aging adults. To achieve this goal we have used an experimental method and a clinical observation: a six-year longitudinal case study. The relationship between depression and cognitive flexibility is assessed by means of shifting and fluency tasks applied to two groups of non-dement depressed and non-depressed elderly who reside in nursing institutions. The quantitative and qualitative analysis shows a decrease in cognitive flexibility which highlights a negative correlation between depression and flexibility scores. We establish an analogy between daily adaptive behaviours and quantitative data, and we propose a theoretical mechanism that explains the adaptive behaviour of the elderly. Our case study offers a deeper understanding of the relationship between depression and cognitive flexibility, particularly the improvements of adaptive capacities due to a decrease of depression
Contribution à l'étude du traitement de l'ambiguïté chez des patients schizophrènes by Keila Deslandes( Book )

1 edition published in 1999 in French and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

LA PROBLEMATIQUE DES TROUBLES DU LANGAGE OCCUPE UNE PLACE CENTRALE DANS LES DEBATS SUR LA SCHIZOPHRENIE. DANS LE PRESENT TRAVAIL, NOUS ABORDONS LE THEME DU TRAITEMENT DE L' AMBIGUITE CHEZ DES PATIENTS SOUFFRANT DE CETTE MALADIE, A PARTIR D'UNE HYPOTHESE AVANCEE PAR L.J. CHAPMAN ET SES COLLABORATEURS (1965), SELON LAQUELLE DES PATIENTS SCHIZOPHRENES ONT TENDANCE A NE PAS ACTIVER LES ACCEPTIONS FAIBLES D'UN MOT "A DOUBLE SENS", MEME SI LE CONTEXTE PHRASTIQUE NE LAISSE PAS DE DOUTES AU RECEPTEUR COMMUN SUR LE SENS PERTINENT. LES EXPLICATIONS A PROPOS DE CE TROUBLE SONT MULTIPLES ET FONT REFERENCE AUX MODELES ETIOPATHOGENIQUES DE LA MALADIE EN QUESTION. AU COURS DE NOS RECHERCHES, NOUS NOUS SOMMES FIXEE COMME OBJECTIF DE FOURNIR DES NOUVELLES DONNEES POUR LE DEBAT QUE S'ARTICULE AUTOUR DE CETTE PROBLEMATIQUE. NOUS ETUDIONS, POUR CELA, DEUX GROUPES DISTINCTS - DONC L' EXPERIMENTAL ET LE CONTROLE. CHACUN DES GROUPES EST CONSTITUE PAR DIX-SEPT SUJETS, DONT LES FACTEURS D'IDENTIFICATION SOCIO-CULTURELLE SE RESSEMBLENT (NIVEAU D'ETUDES, TRANCHE D'AGE, SEXE). NOUS LEUR PROPOSONS, PARALLELEMENT A DES EVALUATIONS CLINIQUES CONVENUES, UNE BATTERIE DE TESTS DE TRAITEMENT DES AMBIGUITES, DANS LE CONTEXTE ET EN DEHORS DU CONTEXTE. AVEC CES PROCEDES METHODOLOGIQUES, NOUS OBJECTIVONS A ATTEINDRE TROIS OBJECTIFS FONDAMENTAUX: 1. ETUDE D'UN DYSFONCTIONNEMENT SPECIFIQUE, AU NIVEAU DU TRAITEMENT DE MOTS ET D'EXPRESSIONS AMBIGUES CHEZ DES MALADES ATTEINTS DE SCHIZOPHRENIE. Y-A-T-IL DES DIFFERENCES SIGNIFICATIVES ENTRE LES SUJETS MALADES ET LES SUJETS NORMAUX VIS-A-VIS DE MOTS ET D'EXPRESSIONS QUI COMPORTENT DES INTERPRETATIONS CONFLICTUELLES? 2. ETABLISSEMENT DE RELATIONS ENTRE LES DYSFONCTIONNEMENTS OBSERVES ET LES TROUBLES D'ORDRE PSYCHOLOGIQUE ET NEUROLOGIQUE; 3. PROPOSITION D'UNE EXPLICATION DU TROUBLE EN QUESTION
