Denne filmen, som er laget av Wim Wenders og filmstudenter i München, handler om filmkunstens fødsel i Berlin. Der bygde brødrene Skladanowsky en projektor, “bioskopet", samtidig som brødrene Lumiére i Frankrike og Edison i Amerika. På sin egen poetiske, fattigslige, sjarmerende og heller "utyske" måte ble de slik medoppfinnere av "levende bilder". Filmen starter for hundre år siden og slutter i 1996 med Max Skladanowskys datter Lucie, som fremdeles svært godt husker sin far og filmens tidlige dager. Filmen er ikke vist i Norge. I IMDb får den karakteren 6,3/10

Die Gebrüder Skladanowsky ist ein deutscher Spielfilm aus dem Jahre 1995. Wim Wenders drehte im Jubiläumsjahr des Kinos mit Studenten der HFF München eine Hommage an die Gebrüder Skladanowsky, die im Jahre 1895 im Wintergarten in Berlin ihre Kurzfilme zeigten, die zusammen mit der Präsentation der Gebrüder Lumière in Paris die Geburtsstunde des Kinos markierten. Der Film ist dabei in drei Akte unterteilt, von denen die beiden ersten im Jahre 1895, der dritte in der Gegenwart 1995 spielen. Zudem wird dem Zuschauer in den ersten beiden Akten ein Erzähler zur Seite gestellt, der das Geschehen aus dem Off kommentiert. Der erste Akt wird aus der Sicht der kleinen Gertrud, Tochter von Max Skladanowsky, erzählt, der zweite aus der Sicht von Max Skladanowsky, wobei hier die Stimme von Rolf Zacher zu hören ist

Quando, verso la fine del secolo scorso, in varie parti del mondo ingegneri e inventori cercavano di dare movimento alle immagini, nel 1892 a Berlino i fratelli Skladanowsky mettono in atto fotografie viventi con una macchina fotografica che si erano costruiti da soli. Tre anni dopo costruiscono un proiettore che chiamano Bioskop. Il 1 novembre 1895 proiettano ad un pubblico pagante un programma composto da otto brevi scene. Sono quasi due mesi prima del 28 dicembre 1895, quando a Parigi i fratelli Lumiére organizzarono quella che passa comunemente come la prima proiezione pubblica della storia del cinema
