Jetzt ist da nur noch ein runder Kondensfleck auf dem spiegelnden Lack. Er verdunstet schnell und ist bald verschwunden. Übrig bleibt die undeutliche Reflexion eines Fensters auf der Maserung. In dieser Leere scheint das Vergehen der Zeit nachzuhallen. In solchen Momenten hält man bei Tarkovski den Atem an. Man muss ihm einerseits recht geben, wenn er in einem Aufsatz schreibt, dass "Der Spiegel" (1976) keine Symbole liefere - etwa: für die Zeit.
