Verlag)

With Ozzy Osbourne at the helm, Black Sabbath sold tens of millions of albums during the 1970s. When he finally broke away to fly solo, Ozzy achieved the unthinkable. Against all odds, he delivered one of the seminal rock albums to mark his resurrection and went on to trounce his former band mates and evolve into a cult icon. Along the way, and over the course of dozens of albums and tours, Ozzy displayed an enviable knack of employing groundbreaking musicians, such as guitarists Randy Rhoads, Jake E. Lee and Zakk Wylde and a series of world renowned bassists, drummers and keyboard player

During the 1970s, Black Sabbath dominated Heavy Metal. In an age of bona fide super-groups they were unquestionably the heaviest thing on the planet, and remained a solid unit whilst others around them suffered ongoing membership fall-outs and line-up re-incarnations. Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, Ozzy Osbourne and Bill Ward weathered internal storms but remained resolute, conquering the globe in the process, selling almost fifty million albums and delivering absolute, pure Heavy Metal. But in 1977 the unthinkable happened - Ozzy decamped. Over the next two decades a succession of vocalists
