Barlowe also praises the abundant natural beauty and resources of the land. Three additional sections follow Barlowe's. First is the charter commissioning Raleigh's expeditions to America, "for the Discovery and Planting of New Lands," written in March of 1584. Next is a letter from Ralph Lane to M. Richard Hakluyt written from Virginia in 1585, again praising the land and its resources. The third section, written well after these events, is a short summary of Sir Walter Raleigh's life and accomplishments, with excerpts from various biographies written about him
