Fluxus at 50 by Alexander Klar( Book )

11 editions published in 2012 in English and German and held by 103 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The first ever Fluxus performance took place 50 years ago as part of the International Fluxus Festival of the Newest Music at the Museum Wiesbaden. Now this key moment is being revived here. Within the framework of the jubilee festival, 'Fluxus at 50' aims to reconstruct and reappraise this performance, musical and artistic movement. The catalogue presents Fluxus stories, motifs and methods using objects, musical scores and images from that period. Reworking the original festivals led to the exposure of a lot of myths, but it still didn't detract from the fascination of the Fluxus idea in itself, which back then spread out from Wiesbaden to change the world

Stille und bewegte Bilder = Images, still and moving by Abbas Kiarostami( Book )

1 edition published in 2012 in German and held by 86 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Abbas Kiarostami (*1940 in Teheran) became known primarily for his films made in the seventies, which were awarded prizes at film festivals such as Cannes (Golden Palm 1997) and Venice. Despite large-scale solo exhibitions at institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the photographic oeuvre of this artist, who studied painting, has yet to be showcased in germanophone countries. Whereas Kiarostami's films contain haunting images of the human experience, he trains his photographic eye on untouched landscapes, often taking years to develop the images into series such as 'Snow White' (1978-2004) and 'Rain and Wind' (2007)
Albert Oehlen : new paintings by Albert Oehlen( Book )

5 editions published in 2014 in English and held by 84 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"This book documents two new bodies of work; a series of large four-part aluminum panel paintings incorporating Oehlen's recurring motif of trees and a series titled Finger Paintings, in which color-blocked advertisements are an extension of the canvas, providing fragmented, ready-made surfaces for Oehlen's visceral markings, made with his hands as well as with brushes, rags, and spray cans. Both series were exhibited at Gagosian Gallery, Los Angeles, in summer 2014"--Amazon website
Thomas Florschuetz : assembly by Thomas Florschuetz( Book )

5 editions published in 2013 in German and held by 77 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Thomas Florschuetz (born 1957 in Zwickau) has created an individual aesthetic characterized by an abstraction that is achieved by means of close-up shots and focusing on detail. Visual axes, wall surfaces, and recesses merge to become independent compositions. 'The Assembly series', which the artist began producing in 2010, is a photographic juxtaposition of the Indian Palace of Justice and parliament in Chandigarh designed by Le Corbusier with Brasilia, the newly constructed capital of Brazil by Oscar Niemeyer. In their comparative treatment, the fact that the seats of government in Chandigarh as well as in Brasilia were conceived on the drawing board is as interesting as the fact that the two architects were teacher and student. Other photographs, for example, show the demolition of the Palace of the Republic in Berlin or the New Museum on the German capital's Museum Island shortly before its completion and restoration. Exhibition: Museum Wiesbaden, Germany (27.4.-8.9.2013)

Albert Oehlen : die 5000 Finger von Dr. Ö by Albert Oehlen( Book )

6 editions published in 2014 in German and held by 55 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Albert Oehlen by Klaus Kertess( Book )

2 editions published in 2017 in English and held by 54 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"In this expansive monograph, we meet the full range of Oehlen's artistic thoughts and approaches: paintings that integrate mirrors, paintings that are executed strictly in primary colors or only in gray, heavily pixelated paintings produced with the help of one of the first personal computers. We find collaged fragments of garish poster ads on canvases that transforming screaming slogans into abstract elements, charcoal drawings the size of a wall, finger paintings, and paintings in which black treelike silhouettes contort themselves into a lexicon of abstract forms. Throughout, Oehlen transforms the conceptual into the compositional, at once invigorating and challenging the viewer. Revising and updating Taschen's previous Collector's Edition, this revelatory survey explores Oehlen's trajectory from his early days up to the present. It features more than 400 paintings as well as insightful commentaries and interviews, covering Oehlen's different work stages and approaches. Roberto Ohrt's essay takes us back to the special vibe of the early 1980s where Oehlen worked alongside Kippenberger, Büttner, and others, part of a scene that painted quickly and close to the pulse of time. Oehlen discusses his computer paintings with John Corbett, and follows up on his more recent work, his thoughts on art, and his day in the studio in a lengthy conversation with Alexander Klar. A collection of shorter texts and quotes from the artist bring us close to the ideas of an artist who has been dubbed 'the most resourceful abstract painter alive"--Publisher's website
Fritz Erler - von der Scholle in den Krieg by Museum Wiesbaden( Book )

3 editions published in 2016 in German and held by 50 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

At the turn of the last century, the painter and printmaker Fritz Erler (1868-1940) - co-founder of the artist group Die Scholle - assumed an independent position between Art Nouveau and Impressionism. In 1914, the nationalist was engaged as a war painter and later executed five war paintings. Although they actually soberly depict the terrors of war, they were later appropriated as aesthetic models for National Socialist propaganda. A fascinating analysis. -- Publisher's description
Günter Tollmann by Günter Tollmann( Book )

Jerry Zeniuk : paintings : not for your living room by Jerry Zeniuk( Book )

3 editions published in 2014 in German and held by 32 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
