In God's land( Visual )

2 editions published between 2012 and 2013 in Tamil and held by 28 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

This documentary follows the lives of villagers in Inam Alangulam, Tirunelveli District, Tamil Nadu as they struggle to keep their land. The mythical birth of their village God, Sudalai Swami, inspires a village's unique journey to fight oppression of the Vanamamalai Temple. Now that the clergy owns the land, the settlers are reduced to being tenant farmers and must make way for redevelopment after the land is sold off for a Special Economic Zone (SEZ). A dispute over 'god's land' begins. Recounting the history of the land, the film satirizes the exploitation perpetuated by religion and class distinction and looks at land within the larger issue of development, forcing us to recognize the totalitarian attitude of the ideals of development, ostensibly to bring economic prosperity but rarely a benefit to real users
Roots of love( Visual )

2 editions published in 2011 in Panjabi and held by 24 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"Told through the stories of six different men ranging in age from fourteen to eighty-six, Roots of Love documents the changing significance of hair and the turban among Sikhs in India. We see younger Sikh men abandoning their hair and turban to follow the current fashion trends, while the older generation struggles to retain the visible symbols of their religious identity. The film is a timely and relevant exploration of the inherent conflict between tradition and modernity, between pragmatism and faith. The choice of cutting one's hair is one that not only concerns the individual and his family, but an entire community."--Container

Together, their stories make up different dimensions of what it means to be a man in India today. Having lived out of his village since childhood, the filmmaker documents the uncertain life in the village on his multiple visits over a period of five years through the life of his sister and her neighbours, who are being forced by various direct and indirect means by the alloy company in their backyard to sell off their homes and lands and relive the life of a refugee after six decades
