Statt der Freude über die langersehnte Rückkehr überkommt ihn die Angst vor dem Wiedersehen nach all den Jahren. Die Geschichte hat Spuren hinterlassen, im privaten wie im öffentlichen Raum. Der Schmerz der Trennungen sitzt tief. "Sur" lässt diese Spuren aufscheinen und die Hoffnungen aufleben, die Floréal in den Tagesanbruch begleiten und sein Gesicht mit jenem seiner Frau in einer wortlosen Einstellung wieder eins werden lassen.
