The Graphics-Photographs Collection is an artificial collection of nearly 1,000 photographs, engravings, lithographs, and other two-dimensional graphic formats. Subject matter varies widely, encompassing architecture, the military, foreign countries, portraits, political scenes, caricatures, landscapes, advertising, religion, and more. Materials of note include: a series of photographs depicting domestic structures designed by noted Kansas City architect Clifton B. Sloan; a collection of photographs showing of the construction of Pennsylvania Station in New York City in 1913-1914; a small group of photographs of the West Bottoms along Mulberry Street in Kansas City; and a lithograph by Thomas Hart Benton entitled "Homecoming - Kaw Valley", which was created after the 1951 flood and sent to members of Congress in an attempt to generate relief funds for those affected by the disaster
