Two letters to her great-granddaughter, Margaret Lathrop Law (b. 1890). Letter dated Spartansburg, S.C., April 6, 1904. Recalls a trip to New York in 1836 and a visit with family friends near Albany. Writes of not hearing from her friends in Schenectady, N.Y., the family of James Walker, since the Civil War, until "today." Accompanied by 4 p. poem, "The Starless Crown," and a March 1904 calendar page with inscription to Margaret Lathrop and Anna Adger Law on verso. Letter dated Spartansburg, Oct. 20, 1905. Writes that a postcard sent by Law of a colonial mansion reminds her of a relative's mansion in Columbia that was burned on the order of General Sherman: "But we have forgiven & try to forget."
