A series of improbably-embellished stories featuring the adventurer Baron Munchhausen. The Baron variously rides a cannonball during a war, becomes a favorite of the Tsarina at the court of St. Petersburg, duels with a jealous Potemkin, meets Casanova, receives the gift of eternal life from the diabolical Cagliostro, and even makes his way to the moon. A filmic fairy tale intended for audiences of every age
Verdun : visions d'histoire by Léon Poirier( Visual )

The German troops are entering the Meuse. The alert has been given. The French soldier calmly awaits the shock. All the villages have been evacuated; wives have been torn apart from their husbands, who stay to defend the land the old farmer won't abandon. The German offensive takes place on February 21st, 1916. Following intense bombing from 7:15 am to 5 pm, flocks of German soldiers dash through the bois des Caures. In order to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the end of World War I, Léon Poirier recreated the battle of Verdun and inscribed in history the lives of symbolic characters from both sides of the front. Verdun, looking at history was edited in three distinct parts and is an epic film of great emotional strength dedicated to all the martyrs of the ugliest human passion that is war

Near Marburg (today Slovenia), people tell the story of a treasure that was hidden during the Turkish invasion of 1683, the year the Turkish Army was besieging Vienna. Everyone thinks it's nonsense except for one old worker who feels that the treasure must be in the bell maker's house. A young traveling worker, who has fallen in love with the bell maker's daughter Beate, makes fun of the old man's belief in the story. But Beate convinces him that the old worker may be right. So the young worker begins the search for the treasure. Together the young man and the old man find the treasure
