Parenting and pornography findings from Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom : summary report( )

1 edition published in 2018 in English and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

This report explores parents' views on their children's exposure to online pornography, presenting key finding from 3 separate but similar studies from Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. The parents were asked about their concerns, views, and awareness about their children's exposure to online pornography, and how they engaged with their children about this issue. The Australian section draws on a survey with 2,799 parents of children aged 6 to 17, as part of a broader study. Only about a quarter of these parents thought that their children had ever been exposed to online pornography, and those who did felt that that would have been by accident. Though three-quarters of the parents felt they had full responsibility for educating their children about online pornography, only 41% had raised this issue with their child. The findings will be published in greater detail in the coming months. It complements an earlier study from 2017 that explored children and young people's views on online pornography
