The latest addition celebrates the investiture of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima in 2013.00These portraits from the Royal Collections present members of the Orange dynasty down the centuries. From equestrian portraits and official state portraits to family and children's portraits. Not spontaneous snapshots, but carefully considered depictions full of symbolism. Hidden stories : wise lessons in the decorations of Amsterdam's former Town Hall( Book )

2 editions published in 2015 in English and held by 26 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Heroes of a golden age, gods and Titans, wise poets and foolish kings, powerful city maids, goddesses of the hunt or love, gods of trade or war. These are no ordinary residents of a town hall or a palace. In silence they tell their stories to those who want to hear. These are wise lessons from bygone ages, but still relevant to whomever recognizes them. Architect Jacob van Campen used images in marble and paint as a tool to tell two story lines to both the visitor and user of the building. Firstly, the glorification of Amsterdam as a center of the world. On the other hand, the symbolism of the Town Hall, which as the seat of order and authority needed to encourage good governance and good citizenship. The result is a building that can be read like a book. Exhibition: Royal Palace Amsterdam, The Netherlands (03.07.-27.09.2015)

On 30 April 2013, another new page was added to the history of the Netherlands. In the Royal Palace Amsterdam, Queen Beatrix put her signature to the document in which she abdicated the throne in favour of her son, the Prince of Orange. The Royal Palace, together with the Nieuwe Kerk, has played a prominent role in the abdications and investitures of Orange monarchs on no fewer than seven occasions. The first investiture, that of William I, took place on 30 March 1814 and the last one in the year that the Kingdom of the Netherlands celebrates its 200-year anniversary. In this booklet, you will learn more about the role the Royal Palace plays in successions to the throne and about the monarchs of the House of Orange-Nassau

Kunsthandel Frans Buffa & Zonen, 1790-1951 : schoonheid te koop by Kunsthandel Frans Buffa & Zonen( Book )

1 edition published in 2016 in Dutch and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

Exhibition: Singer Museum, Laren, The Netherlands (10.09. - 08.01.2017)"
