The aim of this thesis is to explore a sensory geography, sensitive and sensual. Its existence is linked to the way which man, and through him society in general, uses his five senses. Showing how we perceive, decrypted and "build" the space we call our land, and defining "Mediterranean", with its cultural values which are not only visual references, but also appeal to our other senses. Human perceptions are born from a complex phenomenon which is linked to nature and also interim into the social group. Since the nineties, it has been the American scientists who have been developing this new science of "anthropology of the senses" by associating the cognitive dimension of the research to that of culture, developing a sensual ratio: a coherent picture of what individuals in the same community experience. This research obliges is to question certain stances concerning sensorial perception and to admit that it is not only a fruit of a pre-cultural phenomenon, not that a sensorial model is uniquely based on communication technology. It is by asking these questions in a multi discipline sphere, which links geography, aesthetics and physiology that we are able to lock at the "Mediterranean" in terms of a conceptual space and oh human geography. This multifaceted approach will analyze the different models which will define this particular zone and help us to define several layers within nature, participating in the construction of a find identity which will be the base of the expression of the Mediterranean imagination

2 editions published in 2016 in French and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Our study focuses on nursing care with a first approach based on human body and emotions through the teaching context in the sensitive hospital environment. The nursing student is a central point of our research as he lives a unique sensitive and interpersonal experience within his own body in a social setting imbued with symbolism. He perceives health care community through his five senses which inform and direct him, but also may destabilize him. We decided to base our study on the information and communication sciences thanks to a sensitive, sensorial and symbolic problematisation and through a multidisciplinary conceptualization based on different theoretical approaches, symbolic interactionism and phenomenology. The survey enabled us to collect a data set which was crossed with the researcher's personal archives. This has enabled us to explore the student's experience in its perceptual and emotional as well cognitive and imaginary dimensions, without disembodying it. Within a comprehensive approach, we tried to understand the process involved in the emergence of emotions, its expressions and management when the student performs and handles for the first time body cares. Personal hygiene tasks unfold in a staging where each of the characters, caregiver and care-receiver, protect both his own image and living space. They show various performances and a high degree of role playing which are doubtlessly the most meaningful. Every sense is mustered, drawing numerous intimate and secretive feelings which lead to the emergence of many perceptions. These perceptions are exhibited and shared, or are imposed on and therefore indispose. They are a true part of nurse care History, social codes and standards, and the identity of the nurse's role

The present work aims at viewing the process of insular identity building up in the light of culture performance notion. This approach fits in with a communication anthropology, an innovative frame which enables us to analyse on the field interactions when adopting the position of a participative observation. Then in order to broaden the study context the observation of on stage everyday life will reveal the process of the putting on stage of remarkable performances. So new variables such as tourism expansion, the making of spectacle and heritage culture will make known the actors' strategies. Finally the study will end in a reflexion about the metacommunicational processes used in the social double-bind and the search for autonomy
