Summary: This film, based on the children's book by Beverly Cleary, combines live action and three-dimensional animation to tell the story of an unusual encounter. When the family car stalls on them, young Keith, his father and his mother are forced to spend the night at the old Mountain View Inn. There the boy makes the acquaintance of one Ralph S. Mouse, who has been observing him playing with his toy motorcycle and later steals a ride. Agreeing not to use it during the day, Ralph has to break his promise when the toy is in danger of disappearing into a vacuum cleaner, but loses it in the process. To make amends, it is he who obtains the necessary medicine for Keith when the boy becomes ill, though not without causing a certain amount of excitement in the hotel as he races about in a toy ambulance
