Unmittelbar nach dem Tod seines Meisters begann Ruzicka SPIRAL, Konzert für Hornquartett und Orchester, zu schreiben - es ist fesselnde, starke Musik, mit der Ruzicka die dritte CD seiner bei NEOS erscheinenden Werkschau eröffnet. Das Leipziger Hornquartett und das MDR Sinfonieorchester interpretieren sie mit fantastischer Präzision und Farbkraft. Die weiteren hier aufgenommenen Gedenkmusiken changieren vielsagend zwischen Verbeugung und Verfremdung. Das dezidierte Parsifal-Leuchten in R.W., Übermalung für Orchester zeugt gar von Verehrung gegenüber dem Bayreuther.
