Letter (including envelope) from Arthur Brisbane to Tony Lavelli, the mail clerk of the New York Evening Journal, dated May 20, 1914. In the letter, Brisbane that they make sure all newspapers addressed to him are delivered to his box or office, and that he is particularly anxious to get newspapers made by publishers other than Hearst. The envelope enclosed is to Tony Lavelli, the chief mail clerk. The envelope is from the New York American, which was another Hearst paper. Letter from Brisbane to Hiram Motherwell of "Theatre Guild Magazine," dated New York, Dec. 20, 1930, discussing censorship of the theater and instructing Motherwell to contact William Randolph Hearst himself if he wants to know his newspapers' censorship policy
