Uvod v glasbeno delo čitalnic na Slovenskem by Nataša Cigoj Krstulović( )

2 editions published in 1996 in Slovenian and held by 4 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The Slovene musical activity during the years 1848 and 1872 shows a quite specific kind of transition into the early "romanticism". Its marked characteristic is to be seen in the reduction and retardation of individual forms and of stylistic underdevelopment. This was the period of reading-rooms, when "functionalized" music, unsophisticated lieder, songs for four parts and utiliterian male choruses, forming, awareness of belonging to the Slovene nation. Their authors were spurred on by patriotism, which at the beginning produced rather modest results (Jurij Flajšman, Miroslav Vilhar, partly Kamilo Mašek), while the composers of the second reading-room circle (Anton Nedvěd, Gustav Ipavec, Davorin Jenko, Anton Hajdrih) wholly or at least in part managed to wrest themselveses from the bonds of diletantism, were more ambitious and musically already well informed
Odkritje Linhartovega prevoda italijanskega opernega besedila La frascatana (1782) by Nataša Cigoj Krstulović( )

1 edition published in 2016 in Slovenian and held by 4 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The study is the first to discuss the opera libretto Das Mädchen von Fraskati, which was printed in Ljubljana in 1782 for the production of the German theatre company. Today the text for the then popular Italian opera La frascatana of Giovanni Paisiello is kept in the Austrian National Library (Österreichische Nationalbibliothek). A comparative analysis with another libretto has revealed that the German translation of Livigni's opera text was made by Anton T. Linhart and not by Johann Friedrich Schimdt as it has hitherto been wrongly assumed. The German text contains eight inserted lines in the Slovenian language. The historical importance of the newly discovered Linhart's translation in Slovenian is more evident in the light of the only previously known Zois's translation of the Italian aria "Preljube ženice" (It. "Mie care donnette")

Zgodovina, spomin in dediščina : prisotnost Glasbene matice v slovenski glasbi in kulturi do konca drugega desetletja 20. stoletja by Nataša Cigoj Krstulović( )

1 edition published in 2011 in Slovenian and held by 4 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Odnos kulture in identitete je v slovenski zgodovini videti jasen še zlasti v drugi polovici 19. stoletja.
Med sentimentom in razumom: k zgodovini in pomenu valčka za klavir v 19. stoletju na Slovenskem = Between feeling and reason: towards the history and the significance of the waltz for piano in 19th century Slovenia by Nataša Cigoj Krstulović( )

2 editions published in 2010 in Slovenian and held by 4 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Priložnostne skladbe v čast cesarju, monarhiji in panslavizmu kot odraz nekaterih staroslovenskih političnih načel in idej po letu 1848 = Occasional music in honour of the monarchy, the emperor and pan-slavism as a reflection of some Slovenian political ideas after 1848 by Nataša Cigoj Krstulović( )

2 editions published in 2007 in Slovenian and held by 4 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Occasional musical works for the political use with the explicit extra musical purpose - hymns in honour of the Hapsburg monarchy and the emperor Franz Joseph - show a different image and has a different meaning than the prevailing part of the Slovenian music creativity after 1848. In comparison with the patriotic songs with the national-awakening lyrics and songs in folkloric manner they represent only a negligible and trivial part of the Slovenian music creativity. They were the work of the immigrant Czech composers and unimportant music creators whose opinion corresponded with the legitimism of the Slovenian conservative thinking after 1848. These are extreme examples of the functional music. Another example of music in the political use are occasional songs on the politically committed subjects that promoted pan-Slavism and sprang up mostly in the fifties and sixties of the nineteenth century
