Giuseppe Penone by Giuseppe Penone( Book )

3 editions published in 2012 in English and Italian and held by 89 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"Giuseppe Penone's work is characterized by the beauty of its form and materials as well as the existential questions it raises. Associated with the Arte Povera movement and focusing as much on the creative process as on the work itself, the artist identifies himself with the river, the breath, and, more abstractly, movement and life. His works have been exhibited around the world, including his famous l'Arbre des voyelles (1999) in the Tuileries Gardens in Paris. In 2013, Penone will be exhibiting as Guest of Honour in the Chateau de Versailles. Combining historical, scientific, and poetic approaches, this handsome volume is structured around seven key themes in Penone's work: breath, eyes, skin, heart, blood, memory, and speech. Giuseppe Penone includes documentation of the artist's sculptures, drawings, photographs, and writings, and provides a fascinating overview of one of today's major international artists."--Publisher's website

Penone Versailles [exposition, Château de Versailles, 11 juin-31 octobre 2013 by Giuseppe Penone( Book )

1 edition published in 2013 in French and held by 26 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Giuseppe Penone : the inner life of forms( Book )

1 edition published in 2018 in English and held by 10 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"In a monumental oeuvre spanning more than forty years, Penone has explored and expanded our understanding of what constitutes sculpture through the interplay between the human body, nature, and art. His work represents a poetic expansion of Post-Minimalism's, and specifically, Arte Povera's radical break with conventional media, emphasizing the transformative logic involved in the processes of respiration, growth, and aging that are common to all living beings. Housed in a box, the four new essays and conversation are collected in one volume, while twelve insightful texts investigate the main typologies that can be found as organizing principles in the work."
