Protocol for treatment of post traumatic stress disorder : SEE FAR CBT model : beyond cognitive behavior therapy by Mooli Lahad( )

9 editions published in 2010 in English and held by 1,586 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Psychic trauma is as old as mankind itself, but it is still not fully understood how or why the exposure to single or multiple horrific events can overwhelm some people to the extent that they are haunted day and night by the terrible things they have witnessed. Most will recover spontaneously, but others become victims of the most common psychological disorder stemming from such an experience: post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It is estimated that 8% of the Western population suffer from this disordr, and that 40% of them will continue to suffer from symptoms even ten years after the trigger event. For many years it was believed that there was no remedy for those suffering from severe psychic trauma, but in the last decade a major breakthrough has sen the development of new and effective therapy methods. Regaining a sense of control is key to helping clients suffering from PTSD and its accompanying disorders. The authors of this book have spent many years working in the field. Here they distill thos elements common to all the accepted methods of treatment, and they add the unique aspect of imagination and fantasy, described in a concept they call Fantastic Reality. Whilst not claiming to have a remedy or solution for every sufferer, this book will hlp to provide solutions for some of the aspects lacking in other models. This book will prove a valuable addition to the resources of all those who work in this field, where effective treatment, though much needed, is still scarce

The healing forest in post-crisis work with children : a nature therapy and expressive arts program for groups by Ronen Berger( )

8 editions published in 2013 in English and held by 727 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"Nature Therapy is an innovative approach for working with children who have experienced stress or trauma. For the first time in the English language, this book presents the theory behind the approach along with detailed guidelines for introducing it to the classroom and other group settings The flexible 12-session programme pairs nature-based activities with storytelling and other expressive arts approaches. It is designed to strengthen coping and resilience in children who have been through common causes of stress such as the divorce of parents, moving home, the illness of a loved one or bullying. It can also be used in the aftermath of large-scale crises such as war, terrorism and natural disasters to prevent and treat post-traumatic stress disorder. An evocative colour storybook, 'The Guardians of the Forest', is also included for use within the programme. The original, evidence-based approach described in this book will be of interest to all those working therapeutically or creatively with children who have experienced stress or trauma, including teachers, arts therapists, psychologists and counsellors"--Publisher

Creative supervision : the use of expressive arts methods in supervision and self-supervision by Mooli Lahad( Book )

12 editions published between 1999 and 2010 in English and held by 146 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"In Creative Supervision Lahad introduces techniques, drawn from the expressive arts therapies, which can be employed during a supervision to release information from the creative hemisphere of the brain. These techniques include storytelling, role-playing, guided fantasy, imaginary dialogues, letter-writing, drawing, and the use of colours and shapes. Case examples show how the techniques were used, and how they provided insight into problematic relationships with clients. Drawing from his experiences of working in the aftermath of tragedy in Israel, Northern Ireland and the former Yugoslavia, Lahad examines how to supervise a crisis intervention team: he also focuses on self-supervision." "Combining humanistic, creative and practical approaches, Creative Supervision gives a fresh, new perspective which will inspire supervisors to re-think their practice."--BOOK JACKET
