"Bei der Interpretation durch die Nürnberger Symphoniker unter Leitung ihres Chefs Alexander Shelley bekommt man es eher mit einem auffallend lichten, schlanken Sound zu tun. Transparenz geht hier eindeutig vor Masse. Zu dieser Philosophie passen die Solisten bestens. Erik Schumann (Jahrgang 1982) ist ein souveräner Geigenlyriker, der viel Gefühl investiert. Und beim a-Moll-Doppelkonzert, dem stets ein Quäntchen Pathos innewohnt, mit dem 1988 geborenen Cellisten Mark Schumann zeigt sich: Die beiden Brüder agieren musikalisch auf einer Wellenlänge. Solistische Leidenschaft tritt zutage. Alle bleiben dran. Die Nürnberger Symphoniker spielen engagiert und werkdienlich.
