5 editions published in 2013 in French and English and held by 83 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

3 editions published between 1991 and 1992 in French and held by 5 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

2 editions published between 2014 and 2016 in French and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Institutional change appears as an essential element in the theory of solidarity economy. If it does put forward a conception of institutional change as democratie change (democratization of the political and economie life), we argue that this one, considering its complexity, cannot be approached at a global level. Starting from how it is viewed by theorists of the solidarity economy, we have sought to identify concrete forms and practices taking an active part in institutional change, as well as to highlight the processes by which they diffuse into the economy. Also, we advocate in this thesis the fact that an approach based on social innovation is more than relevant. Besides the growing interest it is currently attracting, we insist on the double process of creation and diffusion of innovations, but also on the transformation of the institutions that appear as the players aim. Thus, the understanding of institutional change underlying solidarity economy can be improved by an institutionalist analysis of its economie implications. This proposal seems all the more well-founded that solidarity economy, as being a recent theoretical field, is still widely perceived as a non-economic issue. Therefore, this contribution hopes to improve the analysis of institutional change in solidarity economy

2 editions published between 2013 and 2014 in French and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

How are the Basel principles for enhancing corporate governance being applied in the Lebanese banking sector? This research is about the microeconomics of the firm. The literature on the theories of the firm and of governance enabled us to build a theoretical grid to approach the research question. This grid favors a global approach of the subject since it considers that the théories are complementary. The discussion covers the process of emergence of the codes of good governance as well. It proposes that the formulation and diffusion of these codes Worldwide is due to the efforts of many international actors and reflect their beliefs, interests, and theoretical referential. The national actors will resist the application of these principles. To understand their resistances, we must consider their past and local context that will both influence their Systems of meanings and beliefs. These actors will transgress and play around the principles to serve their interests. For this thesis, we have chosen the interpretative, exploratory, qualitative, and adductive research methodology aiming at enriching the existing theories. The empirical work is based on the comparison of the Basel principles published in 2010 with the guidelines for enhancing governance published in 2011 by the Lebanese Banks Association and on free and semi guided interviews with decision makers in the Lebanese banking sector. Through the analysis of citations grouped in themes, we will try to un-reveal the internalized meanings and theoretical referential of national actors that will influence their play around the guidelines. Moreover, the research reveals that the independence of board and committees members is the most difficult principle to apply in banks in Lebanon

1 edition published in 2016 in French and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

This thesis seeks to explain theoretical and practical contradictions inherent to the workings of the capitalist process and provides theoretical and empirical evidence of overall evolutionary innovation dynamics as defined by Schumpeter. The subject is tackled in three research topics. The first article draws on the problematic nature in economic theory in light of Schumpeter's "theoretical norm" argument. It shows the limitations of mainstream economics by studying logical and epistemological implications of certain assumptions and the consequences of their relaxation. A second article seeks to explain how the stationary circular flow evolves into nonlinear and turbulent dynamics following the introduction of an innovation defined as a new combination of productive means. The question is addressed within an evolutionary approach, specifically from an evolving networks perspective. Simulation results yield evolutionary and turbulent dynamics. The third article examines empirical evidence. Using non-linear filters the aim is to design empirical tests to rule-out convergence towards the exchange equilibrium. Empirical results provide evidence of evolutionary dynamics. They show instability in exchange economies and a disruption effect depicted in the presence of a succession of stable patterns destabilized by turbulent paths of the opposite direction

1 edition published in 2015 in French and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

This work analyzes the weight of agribusiness as an explanatory variable of the unsustainable character of the distributive inflexion of Brazil's growth regime. It specifies its importance in the mode of regulation by the one it recovers in what we call an economic government of the actors' game. This concept defines the set of arrangements seeking to modify the features of economic actors, their interaction and their relations to the authorities according to objectives which refer to a precise governmental intentionality in societal terms. It is showed that is established in this way a governance of the agribusiness' actors which ensures the reproduction of its power in some sectorial and territorial regulations. The study of this governance links its institutional and organizational action to the one of the governmentality by characterizing the role of beliefs and theoretical models established in theoretical references of public policies. This analysis is structured in two parts. A first one revises the literature on the limits to growth simultaneously as it characterizes its influence as reference of the economic policy. A second part develops a case study of the sugar-energy chain, one of the leadings of agribusiness. This one uncovers the changes and the uncertainties of the chain's economic regime of functioning that induced its new governance. We conclude that the distributive intentionality of the economic government of the Workers' Party did not give rise to a corresponding governance of actors of a re-industrialization conversely to the objective of growth of primary exports
