2 editions published in 1962 in English and held by 24 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

CINDER is a general program for use in calculation of time-dependent concentrations of nuclides coupled in an arbitrary sequence of radioactive decays and neutron absorptions in a specified neutron flux spectrum. The solution is determined for a sequence of timesteps, i.e., time intervals in which the flux and fission rate is constant; variations in the flux and cross sections are incorporated via the use of these finite time-increments. The program, for example, can be used in calculation of the time-dependent concentrations of the Hf isotopes, including transitions through the isomeric states, beginning with some initial distribution in any specified time-dependent flux. Or it can be employed in p 239/, Pu/sup 239/, etc., when U/sup 238/ is irradiated. In the latter case the concen tration of fission products in chains generated by yields from fissile nuclides like U/sup 238/ and Pu/sup 239/ can also be calculated. (auth)
