Quelques séquences originales portent sur des épisodes précis, comme l'arrivée des Filles du roi, les voyages de certains explorateurs ou la vie quotidienne des Amérindiens. Des cartes originales servent à situer les gens et les événements, tandis que des cartons viennent signaler les étapes marquantes de cette "épopée en Amérique."
