Stage and television actress T’Keyah Crystal Keymáh was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 13, 1962. An entertainer from an early age, she attended Florida A&M University where she was active in theater. Following graduation, she returned to Chicago and was featured in stage productions. In 1990, she joined the cast of In Living Color where she remained for the next five years. She joined the cast of Cosby and appeared in many other television programs, including the Disney Channel’s highly rated That’s So Raven. She appeared in several movies, including Jackie Brown. She starred in her own variety show T’Keyah Live! Mostly: A True Variety Show which received rave reviews. Keymáh’s film production credits include Circle of Pain and One Last Time. She authored Natural Woman / Natural Hair: Hairstyles and Hairstories From the Front. Her honors include a nomination for a Soul Train Comedy Award and an NAACP Image Award
