The complete works of Voltaire by Voltaire( Book )

25 editions published between 1784 and 1825 in French and held by 46 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"The new edition of Voltaire's works produced by Cramer in 1756 in close collaboration with the author contained, in volumes 4 and 5, 'Mélanges de littérature, d'histoire et de philosophie'. Alongside significant works previously published were a number of new texts, some related, some standing alone, that reflect not only Voltaire's perennial interests, but a new way of presenting them in short articles or 'petits chapitres', as he referred to them. These new texts form the major part of this volume 45B of the Œuvres complètes de Voltaire"--Publisher description

Jerusalem delivered : an English prose version by Torquato Tasso( Book )

9 editions published between 1771 and 1792 in Italian and French and held by 19 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The great sixteenth-century poet vividly imagines the end of the First Crusade, led by Godfrey of Bouillon, and the taking of Jerusalem. This decidedly fictional 1581 account, influenced by Homer and Virgil as well as Ariosto's Orlando Furioso, is heavily seasoned with romance, intrigue, and sorcery. Tasso's poem inspired painters, playwrights, and librettists for centuries. Verse translation by Edward Fairfax

3 editions published in 1777 in French and held by 11 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
