Urban education systems analysis by Stephen Carlton Clark( Book )

3 editions published between 1967 and 1975 in English and held by 5 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Analysis of urban educational systems may be achieved by use of an analytical model. The model may be used in decision-making regarding school location, enrollment, facilities, organization, programs and costs. Known data such as monies available, staff allocation, and current school plant are introduced into the model. In the structure of the model--(1) an initial investment policy (building) is proposed by the administrator. The proposal is related to (2) an urban submodel which combines pupil population, location, transpor transportation needs, and socio-economic characteristics of the community, (3) school submodel which describes the school program, site specifications and development plans, staff specifications, and space and equipment provisions per pupil by instructional area, and (4) cost submodel which helps to estimate accurately total per pupil expenditure for remodeling existing facilities compared to new site and construction proposals, per pupil transportation expenditures, and current operation costs. In an interaction submodel (5), submodels (2), (3), and (4) are summed. Submodel (6) evaluates benefits and costs per pupil in relation to educational objectives, causing examination submodel (7), through feedback, to alter the original proposal (1), justifying, modifying, or eliminating the initial investment policy. The Clark brothers collect : impressionist and early modern paintings by Michael Conforti( Book )

2 editions published in 2006 in English and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"Brothers Sterling and Stephen Clark--heirs to the Singer sewing machine fortune--were among the twentieth century's most influential art collectors. This volume examines their magnificent collections, their personal lives and public profiles, and their significant roles in the history of American museums. While the brothers shared a love for great art, they collected in different ways. Sterling was a private collector; his French Impressionist masterpieces, including thirty-eight Renoirs, and works by such American artists as Winslow Homer, John Singer Sargent, Frederic Remington, and Mary Cassatt now form the distinguished collection of the Clark. Stephen, a businessman and museum trustee, acquired modern works by such masters as Georges Seurat, Paul Cezanne, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, and Vincent van Gogh, often with specific museum collections in mind--including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, New York, and the Yale University Art Gallery."--Publisher's website
Sterling and Francine Clark Papers: Correspondence Series by Robert Sterling Clark( )

in English and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

The materials in the Correspondence series include letters to and from RSC's business associates, friends, family, and acquaintances. They range in content from detailed discussions of world economies, war and politics to details of daily life, practical elements of RSC's business ventures, and accounts of the people and scenes RSC encountered in his travels. These letters illuminate RSC's opinions on a range of topics, especially the political figures of his day, the United States' foreign policies, horse breeding and art. Notable among the Miscellaneous letters is the sheer number of requests for material assistance Clark received. There are accounts throughout the correspondence of small charities he bestowed on individuals. There are also many letters of thanks from various acquaintances for gifts. The Clarks were especially fond of sending chocolates to their friends, but there are also notes referring to pieces of silver and other items. The British Bloodstock Agency is heavily represented. This series contains many letters relating to financial transactions, legal matters and horse breeding. Most of the letters from RSC are carbon copies he kept in his files

Exhibition Records of the Clark Brothers Collect by Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute( )

in English and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

These records relate to the 2006 exhibition, "The Clark Brothers Collect," as well as the fiftieth anniversary of the institution. In addition to the usual types of materials associated with exhibitions, this collection includes extensive research done on the history of the Clark family, Robert Sterling Clark and Francine Clark, and the early days of the museum. The materials are organized by subject, with records related to the exhibition itself following extensive materials collected in the course of researching Clark and his family. The majority of the material consists of photocopied articles, photocopies of items from the Sterling and Francine Clark Papers such as correspondence and diaries, and notes by various curators and other Clark staff members and contractors on their research. Some of the research came from the files of former director of the Clark, David Brooke. Some of this material is photocopied from his files, but more often it was removed from his records and placed with this research. No attempt was made to return Brooke's files to their original order in his records
