I couldn't do broken. Broken is what he was. Broken is what I will always be. To his eyes, that held so much despair, I couldn't look for long. To his fist, that clenched so tightly, like he was locking away the sorrow. To his lips, that never uttered a word, from the years of heartbreak. And despite it all, I couldn't stay away from him. It was like he was drowning in an ocean, and I wanted to grab his face, and whisper to his lips, "Don't forget to breathe." This was how I fell for a man. A man who was so lovesick, I was afraid he would drown me in that same ocean he was lost in

"He wasn't meant to be on my radar, he was definitely the off-limits guy. My brother's best friend, my friend's ex, but most of all he was my boss. Hawk Carnage resembled one thing, and one thing only. Sex. He used it, he knew it, he lived it. Hawk owned the largest lingerie company in the world, and I was his leading lady. In business. But now business and friendship were about to be crossed. The lines blurred, and I was ready to dip my toes in the forbidden water. Because no matter how much I said I could refrain from Hawk Carnage, now was not the time. He was to be my fake fiancé."

Metaphysics and perception in Aquinas and early modern philosophy : synthetic a priori knowledge of efficient causality, modal necessity & divine action by Thomas L Smith( Book )

2 editions published in 2009 in German and English and held by 7 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

'Since the publication of Saul Kripke's Naming and Necessity a growing divide has developed between those who embrace or reject the a priori/a posteriori and analytic/synthetic distinctions. Albert Casullo suggests in A Priori Justification, current opinion is deeply divided and radically polarized. To a large extent, one's views about the a priori determine how one goes about answering questions of metaphysics and epistemology. The work of Immanuel Kant and David Hume will be assessed using the metaphysics and theory of perception of Thomas Aquinas. It will be argued the disparity between the a priori and a posteriori and between analytic and synthetic propositions was introduced by a disconnect between intelligibility and sensibility in early modern philosophy, and can be resolved using a reformulation of the synthetic a priori by which causality and necessity can be known. Using the synthetic a priori one can argue to God's existence from efficient causality and modal necessity. The book is written to any concerned with noetics and metaphysics, philosophy of mind, early modern philosophy, Kant, Hume, Aquinas and Medieval theories of perception, the a priori and natural theology.'--Provided by publisher

"She was everything, yet she was nothing. She was there, then she wasn't. I didn't expect her, never wanted her. But there she was, everywhere yet nowhere. She drew me in with her looks. Locked me with her first words, then stole me with her lust. She was everything I didn't know I was searching for, yet nothing I needed. She was a conundrum, difficult and confusing. One who was impossible of staying away from."--Page [4] of cover
