William Goodwin (d.1673) immigrated in 1632 from England to Braintree, Massachusetts, moving shortly to Newtown, Massachusetts. In 1638, he moved to Hartford, Connecticut. Ozias Goodwin (1596-1683), his brother, might possibly have immigrated with William or immigrated after the move to Hartford, because records of Ozias are found only in Hartford. Descendants and relatives lived in New England, New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Indiana, Wisconsin, Washington and elsewhere
