This package was assembled and sealed as part of the ceremonial documentation of the 300th anniversary of the Harvard Charter in 1950. It contains a handwritten letter from President James Bryant Conant "to the President of Harvard University in 2000," dated February 7, 1951, and a group portrait (photograph) of the Corporation, with the caption "300th anniversary Harvard Corporation , May 22, 1950," and signatures of Corporation members on the mat. The package also contains a press release with the text of a radio talk by Conant on "The Present Danger," February 7, 1951; a reprint of "A statement for a Subcommittee of the Committee on Foreign Relations of the United States Senate: A plan for peace" by Grenville Clark, June 1950; and a proof, dated December 29, 1950, of "You can still act for peace: Speak up now or never!" by James P. Warburg. The package was placed in the custody of the Harvard University Archives, where it was enclosed in a paper wrapper along with an additional photograph of the Corporation
