Janie Paul and "Buzz" Alexander visit 42 prisons across Michigan to collect art work for the Annual Exhibit of Prison Art at the University of Michigan, now the largest exhibit of its kind. This exhibit grew out of the Prison Creative Arts Project, a university-based program that brings theater and arts into Michigan prisons. The documentary also interviews Mary Heinen, Wynn Satterly, Marlon Lucas, Maurice Scott, and others

The film footage was taken by guards of the Scott Correction Facility in Plymouth, Mich. and obtained through the Freedom of Information Act
