Sanja Ivekovic : Lady Rosa of Luxembourg by
Sanja Iveković(
Book
)
4 editions published in 2012 in French and English and held by 26 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
Ten years after its remarkable presentation in Luxembourg, this book (co-published by Mudam and Casino Luxembourg - Forum d'art contemporain) returns to Lady Rosa of Luxembourg, one of the biggest projects carried out in public space by Croatian artist Sanja Ivekovic. Echoing the exhibition presented at Mudam, the publication starts with the project in order to explore central issues concerning Ivekovic's practice. It notably brings together previously unpublished texts by Enrico Lunghi and Bojana Pejic, as well as an interview with the artist. An archive section also retraces the polemic incited by the project when first presented. The presentation will be staged as a discussion between artist Sanja Ivekovic, art historian Bojana Pejic and the director of Mudam an curator of the exhibition Enrico Lunghi. Christophe Gallois, also curator of the exhibition at Mudam will moderate the discussion. 0Exhibition: MUDAM, Luxembourg, Luxembourg (2.6.-16.9.2012)

Bert Theis(
Book
)
2 editions published in 2019 in French and English and held by 24 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
The work of Luxembourg artist Bert Theis (1952?2016), at once poetic and politically engaged, conceptual and sensitive, personal and collective, evolved from a reflection on the role that art can play in society. Its most prominent manifestations were?platforms? and?pavilions? in various cities across Europe and Asia that visitors, passersby, and locals were encouraged to use for moments of rest, contemplation, exchange, or action?spaces where the idea of a?concrete utopia? took shape. Theis was also one of the main protagonists of the Isola Art Center in Milan, a collective and transversal platform for debate and activism around issues of urban redevelopment, which he cofounded in 2001. Accompanying the first retrospective exhibition of the artist at Mudam Luxembourg? Musée d?Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean, this monographic publication surveys his entire career.00Exhibition: MUDAM, Luxembourg (30.03.-25.08.2019)

"The exhibition presents photographs, videos, and installations by 20 artists from the countries bordering the Baltic Sea, works that address the problems and fears resulting from upheavals in present-day society. The exhibition assumes that art can offer impulses and inspire reflection on participation and the power of agency. Invited are artists whose practice is based on the exploration of their social environment. The artists deal with diverse thematic fields such as migration politics, ideas of “normality” and “differentness,” the mechanisms of understanding and misunderstanding, social fears, young people’s various perspectives and concepts of life; the media’s influence on perception, thought, and knowledge; the relation between consumer culture and nature; or the sentimental value of the commonplace. What unites the works is a positive and often humorous prevailing mood that makes the observer want to engage in something new and scrutinize his or her own patterns of perception and thought."--Exhibition website

)
1 edition published in 2014 in English and held by 19 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
The Edward Steichen Award Luxembourg was established in 2004, in honour of the American photographer and curator Edward Steichen who was born in 1879 in Luxembourg, with the aim of contributing to the dialogue between the art scenes in Europe and the United States, of which Steichen was one of the main instigators in the early twentieth century. Awarded every two years to a young artist from the Greater Region, the award offers the winner a residency of six months in New York as part of the renowned ISCP program (International Studio and Curatorial Program). Since 2011, a second prize, the Edward Steichen Luxembourg Resident in New York, offering a four month residency at ISCP, has been added for a young Luxembourg artist. The exhibition brings together recent works by the seven winners since 2005 and demonstrates the richness and diversity of the art scene in the Greater Region. )
1 edition published in 2015 in English and held by 13 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
The exhibition "Geography of time", touring four countries, brings together works by Fiona Tan that explore the themes of memory and identity in mesmerizing ways. Deeply embedded in all of Tan's work is her fascination with the mutability of identity, the deceptive nature of representation and the play of memory across time and space. Fiona Tan's film and video practice explores notions of individual and collective identity in a world increasingly shaped by global culture and the histories and journeys that form it. 0Exhibition: Nasjonalmuseet, Oslo, Norway (25.09.2015-31.01.2016)
