9 editions published in 2008 in French and held by 131 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"Carthage.

2 editions published between 2013 and 2017 in French and held by 65 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The Pluri-language Writing in the Contemporary West Indian NovelThe francophone novel is often regarded as field of strategic issues as to the pluri-language writing. In this respect, West Indies offer a very peculiar situation in which "cacophony" could be considered as a way for various strains (narrative, enunciative and linguistic) to express themselves within the textual frames, with many consequences for the potential readers. For the writers of In Praise of Creoleness, it means deceiving the reader's expectations of clarity to preserve unaltered a multiple identity.Nevertheless, other West Indian francophone writers such as Simone Schwarz-Bart, Maryse Condé and Daniel Maximin, do not share this point of view. Although their writing is marked by a certain Creole presence, they assert that West Indian linguistic identity can not be summarised in the confrontation of Creole and French. According to them, the point is not to reconquer French through creolization. This thesis thus aims to analyze the linguistic structure of West Indian francophone novel with respect both to its different writers' stances, its reception and the transpositions tempted by the translators. This study proposes a contextualization of the plurilingual texts through a confrontation of the works of the contemporary West Indian authors with the previous overlapping languages attempts and creolized writings stemming of the other linguistic spheres. This research will allow to seize the influences and impacts of the pluri-language writing of the contemporary West Indian novelists
Man Dlo by Émile Eadie( Book )

1 edition published in 2014 in French and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

1 edition published in 2016 in French and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

The sociocultural context proves to be a major element in the identital approach of the francophone writings of JP, of RD and AB. Our own approach has tried to follow a synchronic dialectic one through various fictional episodes which constitute the field of research of our study. In the latter, the intercultural element is reconsidered as a concept leading to the rediscovery of the motif of otherness as a clear-cut distinction coming from a sense of belonging which, in turn, guides the writer's behaviour in a way which is different from what the notion of transculturalism usually implies. This idea of transculturalism supports the idea of universality and of multi-ethnic social cohesion by putting forward a polymorphic version of cultural influences which determines the features of individuals within the same society. It is also meant to point out the negative aspect of globalization as an assimilation process within this transcultural pattern which is part and parcel of the literary work.We have specifically laid the stress on the writers' narrative characteristics in order to enhance the recurring themes closely linked to the idea of identity. As a result, the internal dialogue shows a fictional swing between two determining human conditions: disenchantment and passion resulting from an obvious contemporary reality. As a follow-up to our thematic study and more specifically to our analytical one, we have chosen to end our work based on a francophone cultural and identital comparison with a psychoanalytic interpretation of the novels which are part of the corpus
Poétique et géopoétique de Lorand Gaspar by Jihen Souki( )

1 edition published in 2015 in French and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

Lorand Gaspar's poetry bears a constant variety that resists the development of a fixed form. It thereby seems to allow for the hypothesis of a "poetics of motion" which echoes the poet's immanence-based conception of the world, occurred to him since his childhood and fostered over the years of experience. Strongly pointing at an analogical relationship with the neuronal system, which accounts for our reading of a "neuropoetics", this kinetic poetics, woven in the intricate stylistics of a "discontinuous continuity", is likely infused with an adverse poetics, both contradicting and complementing it, which seems to tend towards the specific forms of a peculiarly chosen geography. Informed by a forceful theme of the relief and the fundamental experience of nature in Gaspar's life, this "geotropic" theory means to display the aesthetic making up of a "poetic relief", or, of a geopoetics, a word that conveys the ingraining of geology into the form of the poem. Lorand Gaspar's poetics, which is essentially contrastive, would bring together those two linguistic movements, this tense interplay between the finite and the infinite, which shows that Gaspar's poem does not merely spring up to the world, but is, in itself, a world where the subject, through the poetic invention, also tends to break free from the infinite "movement" in which he is involved

1 edition published in 2010 in French and held by 0 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
