Fragment of an admittatur prepared in English by Harvard College undergraduate Ebenezer Hancock (1741-1819) and signed by President Edward Holyoke (1689-1769) and Tutors Belcher Hancock, Thomas Marsh, William Symmes, and William Kneeland on June 10, 1757. The document, which served as Hancock's certificate of admission to Harvard, contains a handwritten copy of College rules related to student leave that were implemented in 1750. Students matriculating at Harvard at the same time as Hancock were required to submit transcriptions of the 1734 College laws before joining their class, and it is likely this fragment was part of a notebook in which he copied those and additional laws.
