La contra-hegemonia como tactica cultural en dos obras teatrales de Paloma Pedrero by Jeffrey Bainbridge( )

1 edition published in 2015 in English and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

This thesis examines the relationship between Paloma Pedrero's plays, Esta noche en el parque and De noche a alba, as they explore the evolution of gender roles in a post Franco Spain. After the death of General Franco Spain launched into a transition to democracy. In its wake, as the balance of power transformed the body politic, the traditional gender roles were in equal upheaval and redefinition. With selected theoretical references to Antonio Gramsci and Michel Foucault, this thesis explores how Pedrero's works hone in on the nucleus of these renegotiations placing the interpersonal nature of the relationship under the microscope
