The papers primarily concern Day's fund-raising activities as treasurer of the University and of the Alumni Fund and as secretary of the Class of 1897. To a lesser extent the papers reflect Day's publishing interests as a founder and director of the Yale University Press and contributor to the Yale Alumni Magazine. Included also are papers of the Acrotorque Company, a manufacturer of transmissions in Cleveland, Ohio.
