The radiations of U237 have been studied using a magnetic lens beta ray spectrometer and scintillation spectrometers for betas and gammas singly and in coincidence. A beta with an end point energy of 245 (plus or minus) 5 kev was found along with evidence for the existence of a lower energy component. Gammas of energy 27, 43, 59, 165, 207, 269, 334, 370, and 430 kev were found, and probably a gamma of 102 kev. The decay scheme constructed gives a total decay energy for this isotope of 511 (plus or minus) 5 kev
First forbidden non-unique beta transitions in Re-186 : Techniques in coincidence spectroscopy by F. T Porter( )

The beta spectrum of the main inner group of 89.0-hr Re-186 has been magnetically analyzed in coincidence with the 137.2-kev gamma. The observed spectrum does not have the allowed shape nor the unique shape; its spectrum shape correction factor increases ca 18% from 150 kev to 900 kev. Subtraction of this spectrum, weighted with its measured relative abundance, from the composite spectrum, produces the spectrum of the ground state transition. Its similarly allowed, non-unique shape factor increases by ca 22% from 150 kev to 1050 kev. Both transitions are interpreted as first forbidden; RE-186 is assigned a ground state spin and parity. A theoretical parametric fitting of these spectra with the combination of scalar and tensor beta interactions is demonstrated the limited ranges of the fitting parameters, which are functions of the nuclear matrix elements, are obtained

Beta-ray spectrum studies on a double-lens spectrometer of the electron spectrum of UY revealed a complex spectrum with three beta components of 302 kev (44%), 216 kev (11%), and 94 kev (45%), and numerous conversion lines assignable to gammas of 33, 59, 63, 85, 122, 167, and 208 kev, each of these except the 122 kev also observed directly as gammas in a scintillation spectrometer. There is also evidence for a 107 and for a 230-kev gamma-ray. The samples were separated carrier-free from isotopically pure U2355 (99.86%) by solvent extraction. A decay scheme is presented which gives a total disintegration energy of 324 kev

The directional correlation between the non-unique first forbidden 934-kev beta group and the 137-kev gamma transition in the decay of Re-186 has been measured as a function of beta energy above 150 kev. Analysis of the experimental data included a correction which takes into account the effect of backscattering of electrons from the crystal, for the finite energy resolution of the anthracene crystal scintillation spectrometer. The differential anisotropy increases with increasing beta energy to 0.158 plus or minus 0.006
