The North American Think Tank on Youth Gambling Issues was convened April 6-8, 1995 at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. Co-sponsored by the Harvard Medical School, Division on Addictions, and the Minnesota Council on Compulsive Gambling, with assistance from the Massachusetts Council on Compulsive Gambling, the event brought together key leaders from throughout the United States and Canada who represented diverse fields including government, education, the gambling industry, finance, law enforcement, the judiciary, health care and research. Recommendations were developed in seven key areas of concern: policy development, funding, law enforcement, research, treatment and training, education, and public awareness and media
