In this film Arthur Babbitt, the American animator, recalls his early life and his career at Walt Disney studios which he joined in 1932. At Disney, Babbitt took part in the creation and development of such characters as Goofy and the Three Little Pigs, and worked on films such as The Country Cousin, Snow White, Pinocchio, Fantasia and Dumbo. After the strike at Disney Studios, Babbitt left and worked at other studios, doing free-lance work and commercials. Most recently he has been teaching in England and working on a full-length British cartoon feature called The Thief and the cobbler, under the direction of animator Richard Williams. Babbitt's reminiscences are interspersed with cartoon film clips of his work, moving picture sequences of Disney and his associates at the Disney Studio taken by Babbitt himself, and comments on Babbitt's life and work by Richard Williams and other animators
