Malatya : the story of the first martyrs of the modern Turkish church( Visual )

1 edition published in 2009 in English and held by 14 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Malatya is a documentary about the first martyrs of the Turkish church. On April 18th, 2007, Necati Aydin, Ugur Yuksel, and Tillmann Geske were brutally killed in Malatya, Turkey for proclaiming that Jesus Christ is the King of kings and Lord of lords. Necati and Ugur are the first known modern Turkish converts from Islam to Christianity to be killed for their faith. The Malatya martyrdom has challenged the most fundamental assumption in Turkey (to be Turk is to be Muslim) and has forced the public to acknowledge the presence of the indigenous Turkish church. In the midst of much grief and suffering, God has brought great opportunity, as the lives of just 3000 Christians are put on display before a country of 72 million. Those we spoke with testify with a unified voice that God is working for His glory and their good and this fact has brought the church great joy in the midst of persecution. - Film website
