Structural steel designers' handbook by R. L Brockenbrough( )

1 edition published in 2006 in English and held by 7 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Fully updated with the most recent design codes, standards, and specifications, Structural Steel Designer's Handbook, Fifth Edition, provides a convenient, single source of the latest information essential to the practical design of steel structures. This comprehensive volume begins by covering the properties of structural steel and the fundamentals of fabrication and erection. Modern structural design methods applicable to buildings and other structures, such as roof systems and various types of bridges, are presented. Details on the design of members--beams, columns, and tension components--and of bolted and welded connections are also covered. Featuring contributions from renowned engineering experts, this is an invaluable working tool for structural steel designers. -- Publishers description
Solid state image intensifiers : phase II ; development of an internal trainer optical system image intensifiers by Zoltan Szepesi( Book )

2 editions published in 1963 in English and held by 3 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Efforts concerned the development of photoconductor-electroluminescent (PC-EL) type solid state image intensifier panels for the visible light band and the building of an optical train (bench), incorporating the intensifier panels and the necessary power supplies. Three different and new construction methods were developed in building the low resolution image intensifier panel: (1) Fotoform substrate construction; (2) grooved glass construction with electrodes; (3) sandwich construction. The sandwich construction, after the difficulties were solved, proved to be a superior solution because of its simplicity and inherent higher resolution. Image intensifier panels were built in sizes up to 6 in. x 6 in., with maximum standard luminous gains of 100-ft-L per ft-c, with maximum output brightness of 30 ft-L, and with resolution higher than 100 lines per inch. Regarding the high resolution image intensifier, a major effort was spent in developing an evaporated EL film, indispensable for this construction. Working image intensifiers in this construction were not built. (Author)

Richmond Crusade for Voters collection by William S Thornton( )

in Undetermined and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

The collection includes materials collected by Crusade for Voters historian William A. Thornton and William S. Thompson. The date range of the collection, from the early 1950s until 1995, spans the history of the organization. The bulk of the collection was donated in two large binders, the contents of which have been rehoused but maintained in their original order, organized roughly by the terms of Crusade presidents. The binders hold minutes, correspondence, historian's reports, newsletters, newspaper clippings, campaign flyers, financial reports, and similar materials, many of which are photocopies. In addition to the binders, the collection also holds a variety of loose material including correspondence, financial records, clippings and newsletters, flyers, awards, and reports as well as documents pertaining to the organization's history and voting in Richmond, Virginia. Much of this loose material is duplicated in the photocopied contents of the binders
