The collection includes Royall Tyler's correspondence, 1787-1825; papers relating to Tyler's involvement in Shays' Rebellion, 1787; legal forms and accounts, 1792-1821; court dockets of Windham County, Vt., 1815-1818; and manuscripts of Tyler's literary works. There is also an early diary of John Adams (1735-1826) that Tyler presumably acquired during his brief engagement to John's daughter, Abby.
