Four Native Hawaiians look at the current problems facing the Bishop Estate and the Kamehameha Schools. Recently, the trustees have agreed to compromise and abide by the suggestions in the Masters report. They must report on how they intend to comply and give a timetable for this. Unfortunately, panel feels that trustees missed an opportunity to act in a Hawaiian way. All agree there has been too much taken, wasted and salaries are much too high. Only 10% of Hawaiian children are in the schools and since the dismantlement of extension programs the children from neighbor islands have to come to Oʻahu.
