There are representative types of most of the great piston engined fighter aircraft of World War Two, as well as jets from the former Warsaw Pact countries and a good selection of pre-war civilian types. Australia's Warbird movement is dedicated to keeping them flying. In this third film, the successor to Spitfire Over Australia and Curtiss Kittyhawk, Jeff Watson looks at a selection of warbirds, either flying or preserved in a static condition. Aircraft Featured are CAC Boomerang, CAC Sabre, CAC Mustang, Hawker Sea Fury, North American T28 Trojan, North American Harvard, Cessna A37, PZL Iskra, Mig 15 UTI, Fiat G-59, BAC Jet Provost and Beech Staggerwing. During World War II, more than 650 Spitfires were delivered to the RAAF. The film shows how Colin Pay rebuilt one of these, a Vickers Supermarine Spitfire HF Mk VIII built in 1944, from the corroded hulk he acquired in 1982, into a superbly restored flying machine. The film has some of the best air to air colour footage ever shot of a Spitfire in Australia and includes archival film showing Spitfires in Darwin in 1943

In December 2006, Qantas's original jet airliner flew into Sydney after a flight of 14,382 nautical miles from Southend on Sea in England. The Boeing 707-138 VHEBA first flew in 1959 and had ended its days in England where it was to be scrapped. A team of retired Qantas engineers led by Peter Elliot decided that the aircraft would fly home again to Australia to be put on display at the Qantas Founders Museum at Longreach Queensland. This is a story about a great aeroplane but also aboth the dedication and resolve of the people who made her fly again
