2 editions published between 1994 and 1995 in French and held by 9 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

THOUGH INDUSTRIAL RESEARCH IS OF CENTRAL IMPORTANCE FOR BUSINESS INDUSTRIAL STRATEGIES. IT HAS NOT BEEN STUDIED BY THE FRENCH HISTORY. WHAT ARE THE RYTHMS AND ACTORS OF R&D ? DOES FRANCE SHOW A MAJOR ORIGINALITY IN THAT FIELD ? THE CASE STUDY OF R&D IN THE ALUMINUM SECTOR OF PECHINEY (5TH ALUMINUM PRODUCER IN THE WORLD IN 1944) ALLOWS THE AUTHOR TO UNDERLINE THE GRADUAL STRUCTURATION OF THIS ACTIVITY OVER THE LAST CENTURY. THIS PROCESS SHOWS THIRD STAGES. THE FIRST AGE (1886-1921) SHOWS TO THE SHIFTING OF THE RESEARCH FROM THE UNIVERSITY TO THE INDUSTRIAL LABORATORY UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF THE INVENTOR-BUSINESSMANN. THE SECOND AGE (1921-1945) IS THE ONE OF THE FRENCH SPCIFICITY IN THE SENSE THAT THE RESEARCH ACTIVITY LEFT THE LABORATORY FOR THE PLANTS UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF THE PRODUCTION ENGINEERS. AT LAST, AFTER THE SECOND WORLD WAR, THIS SPECIFICITY DISAPPEARS BECAUSE RESEARCH GOES BACK TO AUTONOMOUS AND STANDARDISES LABORATORIES WHERE SCIENTIFIC ENGINEERS WORK

1 edition published in 2018 in French and held by 8 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

2 editions published between 1986 and 1987 in French and held by 6 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

WHEN IT FIRST APPEARED, THE IRAGI FEMININE PRESS HAD A STRONG LINK WITH THE ARABIC FEMINIST MOVEMENTS, ESPECIALLY WITH THE IRAQI AND THE EGYPTIAN ONES. THE VARIOUS FEMININE MAGAZINES THAT APPEARES ONE AFTER THE OTHER IN IRAQ DURING THE FIRST HALF OF THIS CENTURY NEVER LASTED LONG AND WERE NOT VERY LARGELY SPREAD. "AL MAR'A" (THE WOMAN), THE ONLY FEMININE MAGAZINE NOW PUBLISHED IN IRAQ IS EDITED TWICE A MONTH WITH A CIRCULATION OF ABOUT 30,000 COPIES. IT IS DIRECTED BY THE GENERAL UNION OF IRAQI WOMEN. IT TREATS OF ABOUT 20 DIFFERENT ITEMS. LOOKING CLOSER TO THE CONTENT OF THIS MAGAZINE, ONE CAN NOTICE THAT THERE IS MUCH MORE TEXTS THAN PICTURES AND NEARLY ADVERTISINGS. THE MORE IMPORTANT HEADINGS DEAL ABOUT CULTURAL MATTERS AND THE FEMININE CONDITION. A POLL MADE ON 414 READERS OF BOTH SEXES SHOW THAT THEY ARE GENERALLY YOUNG (16 TO 30 YEARS OLD), THEY HAVE VARIED SOCIAL ORI0 GINS, AND THE MAGAZINE HAS A GREAT IMPORTANCE IN THE FAMILY LIFE. THROUGH THE READERS'LETTERS, THE CONCERN OF MEN TOWARDS THIS MAGAZINE IS EVEN MORE STRESSED, AS WELL AS THE IMPORTANCE OF THE ITEMS ABOUT MARRIAGE, PROBLEMS BETWEEN HUSBAND AND WIFE OR WITH THE FAMILY. THE READERS' MAIL SHOWS SEVERAL PURPOSES : PSYCHOTHERAPICAL, SOCIAL AND CULTURAL, ENTERTAINING AND EDUCATIONAL. THE MAGAZINE EMPHASIZES ON THE FACT THAT THE WOMAN'S PROMOTION GOES TOGETHER WITH THE TRUE PARTICIPATION IN THE AREAS OF EDUCATION, ECONOMICS AND POLITICS, WITHOUT FORGETTING HER CLASSIC FAMILY DUTY

La Compagnie des Indes : 1719-1795 by Philippe Haudrère( Book )

1 edition published in 1988 in French and held by 6 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The second company of India - which follows a first one, founded by Colbert - was constituted on 1719, upon law's authority; it received an important capital and large territories, situated in America, Africa and Asia. Since 1730, it renounced to Louisiana and West Indies, and gave up to trade with India and China. During the same time, it spread its own naval building, and improved the experience of its naval staff. It increased also the bulk of its trade, to such a level that its succeeded in competing with foreign companies. Despite this success, it went into a lot of troubles; the benefit was becoming smaller and smaller as increased the freights, the market of which was reduced, and the goods were sold not easily; loads grew larger and larger during the wars, as ships had to be escorted and factories defended, the company, alone, being obliged to protect them, lacking any governmental help. For those reasons, the colonial staff, suggested to extend the French rule to indian territories, in order to find new means; but shareholders and French government did not agree; consequently, the company could not overcome these difficulties, and was obliged to postpone the trade in 1769

IN STUDYING THE METHODS USED FOR THE CHOICE OF FUTURE PRELATES DURING THE MEROVINGIAN ERA PROPERLY SPEAKING, WE HAVE OBSERVED A CERTAIN PREPONDERANCE OF POPULAR ELECTION CLERO ET POPULO ; WHICH IS EVIDENTLY VISIBLE THROUGH THE CUSTOM OF A DECRETUM UNDERWRITTEN BY THE CLERGY AND PEOPLE OF A VANCANT SEE ; SENT TO THE EPISCOPAL COLLEGE OF THE ECCLESIASTICAL PROVINCE, THIS RATIFICATION PRODUCED BY THE POPULUS CHRISTIANUS AND CONCERNING ITS OWN CHOICE THUS PRECEDES THE DECISION (JUDICIUM) OF THE BISHOPS. MOREOVER, IT SEEMS TO EXCLUDE THE LATTER FROM THE ELECTIO. BUT, OWING TO THE VERY CHARACTER OF UNANIMITAS WITH WHICH THE ELECTION IS GENERALLY ENDOWED, GOD WILL HAVE EXPRESSED HIMSELF THROUGH THOSE WHO HAVE THUS BEEN TOUCHED ; FROM WHICH ENSUE THE AWARENESS AND THE PROOF OF THE EMINENT QUALITIES OF THE MAN WHO HAS BEEN PUT INTO A POSITION TO ACCEDE TO THIS HIGH OFFICE. AS FOR THE INTERVENTION OF THE REX FRANCORUM AT A BISHOP'S ACCESSION, THIS ONLY APPEARS IN THE LAST STAGES OF THE PROCEDURE, FIRSTLY, TO CONFIRM OR ANNUL THE CHOICE OF THE CLERGY AND PEOPLE, AND THEN TO INSTRUCT THE BISHOPS OF THE PROVINCE CONCERNED TO PROCEED TO THE ORDINATIO OF THEIR COLLEAGUE. IN FACT, IT IS DURING THIS CEREMONY OF CONSECRATION

2 editions published between 1995 and 1996 in French and held by 6 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Gabriel Taborin was born at the end of the French revolution in Belleydoux (department of Ain), a village marked by a climate of resistance to the revolutionary principles. Because of his reading of the lives of the monks, he was attracted to priesthood, but inspired by the pastoral life of the church under the restoration, he opted instead for a type of religious life of a lay kind. He founded first of all the brothers of Saint Joseph in the the diocese of Saint-Claude (1824) and the, in 1835, the brothers of the holy family in the diocese of Belley, tanks to the support of Mgr Devie. His brothers were sent, individually and in groups, into the poor parishes of the countryside. There they exercised the functions of clerics, chanters, sacristans and teachers, under the direction of the parish priests. They spread throughout France and in the French sardes states. The congregation of brother Taborin was recognized by pope Gregory XVI in 1841 and authorized by the kind of Sardegna Charles Albert in 1842. The life of brother Gabriel is noted for a series of conflicts with the clergy and for his opposition to the government. This second conflict involved him in the "anticongregationist" politics and in the progressive laicization of the primary school. The difficulties felt with regard to the clergy came from the lay character of the ecclesial status of the "brother". The innovation introduced by Gabriel Taborin is seen in his "laïcité religieuse", which is an implicit invitation at the heart of the church to go beyond the cleavage between the cleric and the lay person which has characterized the church since the third century. His life thoroughly lay and profoundly religious remains at variance with the attitude of a church which refuses modernity and of a society which refuses the gospel

2 editions published in 1992 in French and held by 6 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Héraclite dans Aristote by Cristina Viano( Book )

2 editions published in 1986 in French and held by 6 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

THE SUBJECT OF THIS RESEARCH IS HERACLITUS' ARISTOTELICIAN SOURCE. THE CONCEPTUAL SCHEMAS THROUGH WHICH ARISTOTLE EXPOSES THE EPHESIAN'S DOCTRINE CONSIST OF TWO MAIN THEMES ONE CAN ALSO FIND IN PLATO : BEING AND BECOMING. HERACLITUS IS AN ANCIENT PHYSIOLOGIST AND ACCORDING TO HIM FIRE IS THE MATERIAL CAUSE AND THE ARCHE (THE PRINCIPE OF ALL BEINGS). THE CHOICE OF FIRE SEEMS TO DISTINGUISH HIM AS "THE MOST COHERENT" WITH MONIST VISION OF REALITY. IN FACT ARISTOTLE SAYS THAT CARACTERISTICS OF FIRE ARE EXTREME AND BELONT MORE TO FORM THAN TO MATTER. CONTINUOUSLY ALL THINGS HAVE THEIR ORIGIN IN FIRE AND COME BACK TO HIM. THIS BECOMING LOOKS LIKE A RIVER STREAM. THE ONLY "PERSISTING" THING IS FIRE. HERACLITUS' KNOWLEDGE AND ETHICS ARE IN HIS PHYSIOLOGY OF FIRE. THE RESULTING IMAGE IS A TOTAL THOUGHT WITHOUT QUALITATIVE BREAKS. ARISTOTLE OFFEN ALLUDES TO THE HERACLITEANS' MEDIATION, OF WHOSE CRATYLUS IS THE MOST REPRESENTATIVE. HERACLITISMUS APPEARS AS A THEORETICAL INVOLUTION : CRATYLUS FORGETS ONTOLOGICAL ELEMENT OF ARCHE AND MAKES ABSOLUE THE RIVER'S SPEED AND RENONCES TO KNOWLEDGE AND TO WORDS. HERACLITUS' SCEPTICAL INTERPRETATION BEGINS IN ARISTOTLE'S SOURCE. THE DOCTRINE OF BECOMING FOLLOWS AN IDEAL LINE WHICH BEGINS IN POETICAL PAST, REACHES HIS HIGHT SPECULATIVE LEVEL IN HERACLITUS, AND FALLS INTO DECLINE WITH HERACLITEANS' AGNOSTICISM, THE ECHOS OF WHOSE WILL GET TO SCEPTICS
