Les diatomées périphytiques constituent un modèle biologique parfaitement adapté à l'éude de la qualité des eaux. Dans ce travail, leur structure est étudiée sur des substrats artificiels immergés, par l'analyse de critères généraux (biomasse, densités, diversité...) et spécifiques (abondance relative, indices diatomiques) pour deux types de pollution : pollution organique dans l'hydrosystème Nhue-Tolich (Vietnam), et pollution métallique dans l'hydrosystème Lot-Riou Mort (France). Les résultats montrent que la pollution organique se manifeste par un changement de structure des communautés et une inhibition de leur croissance. Les assemblages diatomiques des sites fortement pollués présentent des espèces tolérantes à la pollution organique comme Nitzschia umbonata, Eolimna minima. Les formes résistantes à la pollution organique comme Gomphonema parvulum, Navicula veneta sont observées dans les sites modérément pollués, et la majorité des espèces sensible (Achnanthidium minutissimum) ainsi que les taxa halophiles (Bacillaria paxillifer) sont trouvés dans le site comparativement non pollué. Par ailleurs, les communautés de diatomées ont répondu au niveau métallique élevé par la présence en grandes proportions d'espèces adhérentes, de petite taille, et résistantes aux métaux comme Eolimna minima et d'espèces présentant des malformations. De fortes corrélations ont également été observées entre l'accumulation du métal dans le biofilm et la présence marquée de certaines espèces de diatomées. Les diatomées apparaissent comme un modèle fiable, qui montre, à travers la structuration de ses communautés, de nombreuses modifications témoigant de l'impact des polluants

Ce sujet de recherche vise mieux comprendre les processus de bio remédiation qui participent à la réduction des charges en polluants dans les écosystèmes aquatiques du type zones humides, en tant que question d'actualité en ingénierie écologique. L'efficacité des processus de phytoremédiation a été largement démontrée par des applications individuelles sur le sol et les sédiments. Cette thèse a pour objectif de démontrer la participation d'une population d'invertébrés dans l'efficacité de la réduction de polluants des sédiments aquatiques en combinant le processus de bioturbation avec la phytoremédiation. Les hypotheses de recherche ont été testée expérimentalement en conditions de laboratoire à l'aide d'une série de microcosmes reproduisant chacun une portion d'interface eau/ sédiments similaire aux conditions en zones humides. Dans nos expériences, la bioturbation est réalisée par une population d'oligochètes Tubificidae bien connue comme un ingénieur écologique. La phytoremédiation associée est effectuée par une plante aquatique Typha latifolia connue pour sa capacité à extraire les polluants organiques et inorganiques des sédiments par l'accumulation dans leur biomasse. L'influence de cette biodiversité sur les flux et bilan de masse de polluants modèles, a été démontré à l'aide de 2 expériences de laboratoire mettant en oeuvre des séries de microcosmes contaminées avec du Cadmium en tant que métal trace avec une concentration initiale de 20 µg.L-1, dans l'eau surnageante, et de l'atrazine marquée avec une concentration de 5 µg.g-1 de sédiment frais en tant que micropolluant organique persistant et herbicide. Les résultats de ces expériences démontrent que le bio-transport créé par la population de tubificidae ainsi que la bioremédiation sont toujours actifs en présence de contamination ce qui confirme le potentiel de dévelopement de ces organismes en ingénierie écologique. Abstract: Silver nanoparticle (AgNP) has a wide range antibacterial effect and is extensively used in different aspects of medicine, food storage, household products, disinfectants, biomonitoring and environmental remediation etc. In the present study, we examined the growth inhibition effect of engineered silver nanoparticles against bloom forming cyanobacterial M. aeruginosa strain. AgNPs were synthesized by a chemical reduction method at room temperature and UV-Vis spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscope (TEM) showed that they presented a maximum absorption at 410 nm and size range between 10 and 18 nm. M. aeruginosa cells exposed during 10 d to AgNPs to a range of concentrations from 0 to 1 mg l −1 . The changes in cell density and morphology were used to measure the responses of the M. aeruginosa to AgNPs. The control and treatment units had a significant difference in terms of cell density and growth inhibition ( p <0.05). Increasing the concentration of AgNPs, a reduction of the cell growths in all treatment was observed. The inhibition efficiency was reached 98.7% at higher concentration of AgNPs nanoparticles. The term half maximal effective concentration (EC50) based on the cell growth measured by absorbance at 680 nm (A680) was 0.0075 mg l −1 . The inhibition efficiency was 98.7% at high concentration of AgNPs (1 mg l −1 ).
